The School IES Cerro del Viento support Cudeca Hospice

On the 21st of February, the IES Cerro del Viento Institute visited the Cudeca Cancer Care Hospice with the view to learning about the social work carried out and the care programmes offered each year to more than 650 patients suffering from advanced cancer.

The students were greeted at Cudeca by Rafael Gómez, the Home Care Director; Susan Hannam, Director representing the volunteer department and Laura Haggis and Angel Rodríguez, from the Communications and Fund Raising Department.

After explaining the care programmes carried out by Cudeca and giving them details of the next events to be held (i.e. the Cudeca Walkathon on the 15th of May), many of the students wanted to become volunteers to help us continue offering our Special Kind of Caring.

The Cudeca Cancer Care Hospice helps over 650 patients suffering from advanced cancer each year, and support to their families, through their Home Care, In Patient Unit, Day Centre, Rehabilitation and Psychosocial programmes, all of which are free of charge. More than 5.800 patients have received free care since 1992.

Cudeca would like to give heartfelt thanks for the interest shown by the IES Centro del Viento Institute so that together we can continue Giving Life to Days.
