Hazell Bradshaw, a CUDECA volunteer, invites your pets to the Walkathon 2019!

Hazell Bradshaw, a CUDECA volunteer for more than 10 years, is inviting the community to bring their pets along to the Walkathon 2019 and participate of the largest sponsorship contest which her dog won last year in aid of the Cudeca Cancer Care Hospice.

In her own words, Hazell Bradshaw explained to CUDECA: “My name is Hazell Bradshaw, I am a volunteer working in the Cudeca day centre.  Last year I decided to get my Yorkshire Terrier sponsored to do a 5km walk at the Cudeca Walkathon. Surprisingly he raised €660 which was the third biggest sponsorship winning him a prize. The prize was two nights in a hotel in Southern Ireland which had been donated by the Sunset Beach Club Hotel Corporation. A friend and I stayed in October for two nights at the Faithlegg Hotel and Spa in county Waterford. We were made very welcome, it's a lovely hotel and we had a very enjoyable stay, so much so that we have already made a reservation to stay there again this year. I have four dogs, three Spanish Water dogs and the Yorkshire Terrier. This year I am going to try and get sponsorship for all four dogs in the hope of raising more money for Cudeca. Please, come along and be part of the Walkathon 2019 with your dogs!”

This year and very sadly, Hazel´s dog, Oscar, would not be able to attend the Walkathon due to his recent surgery. We wish Oscar the best of recoveries and wait for him for the Walkathon next year!

We are thrilled to welcome more of you who wished to participate with dogs and pets. For more information, please contact Esther Ráez at the Cudeca Hospice on pr@cudeca.org or call 697 146 987.

Join the Walkathon 2019 on Sunday, 12th May with your dog!
