On Saturday 18 May, the Department of Tourism of the City of Istan celebrates for the fourth consecutive year the IV Intercultural Encounter from 1.30pm at the Plaza de Andalucía of the village. This intercultural encounter was born with the aim of getting to know more about the different nationalities living in Istan and sharing with all inhabitants their customs, food, music and traditions to help us.

As in previous years, there will be several Stands identified by countries in which all attendees can taste the homemade cuisine that the neighbors of Istan from Scotland, South Africa, India, Nicaragua, England, etc. are preparing with immense affection for the party. Attendees will enjoy a pleasant morning savouring different international dishes, all of them homemade and less common in Spanish and along the Mediterranean gastronomy in a friendly, informal, relaxed way. Live music entertainment by the hands and voice of the British singer residing in Istán, Helena Paul.

Tapas and sweets tastings, as well as drinks, will be at affordable prices and proceeds will be destined for the fourth consecutive year and entirely to help and support our whose mission offering specialized care and assistance to advanced cancer patients, as well as support to their family.

The purchase of the charity tickets will be at the CUDECA stand by the entrance to the Plaza de Andalucia which will be assisted by volunteers from CUDECA and the town of Istan. These tickets, worth 1€, can be exchanged at any of the different Stands for a tapa or a drink. The CUDECA tins will be available at this same desk for those who wish to make an additional contribution or to obtain more information about the hospice.

All the funds raised will be donated to continue assisting more than 1,400 people with cancer and other advanced illnesses each year, and to offer support to their families completely free of charge. More than 15,000 patients and their family have already been treated since 1992 at the Cudeca Cancer Care Hospice.
