Friendship Day with UK


On Saturday 10th May, Cudeca Foundation was invited by the Foreigners’ Department of  Mijas Town Hall to celebrate Friendship Day with the United Kingdom.
Fish and chips, hog roast, cream teas and bangers and mash were the order of the day, with more than 30 stalls spread out across the pueblo’s main square.
 
The new British Consul, Charmaine Arbouin, and the mayor of Mijas, Angel Nozal, marked the day by unveiling a plaque outside the tourist office. Mrs Charmaine Arbouin and Mario Bravo ( Edil de Residentes de Extranjeros) visited Cudeca´s  stand.
 
Shakespeare also made an appearance with a recital from the actor Robert Michael Maxwell, and Scotland got a look in with a bagpipe performance from Leslie Thompson.
 
Cudeca is sincerely grateful to the Foreigners´ Department of Mijas for their invitation to participate on the event.Thanks to the efforts of Terrie McDarby, Allen Rowlands and Geoffrey Gardner, a magnificent total of 462,41€ was raised on the day, which will help us to continue offering our Special Kind of Caring to patients suffering from advanced cancer and support to their families, as all the support provided by Cudeca is completely free of charge.
