Cudeca Volunteers Luncheon

A total of 200 attended the Cudeca Cancer Care Hospice held the Annual Volunteers Luncheon at the Restaurante Valparaiso, Mijas on Sunday 20th January.  Joan Hunt OBE, President and Founder of Cudeca, together Marisa Martin, Medical Director, thanked everyone for their loyal support over many years, helping to raise much needed funds to continue offering the cost free ?special kind of care? to patients suffering from advanced non-curable cancer. The volunteers received loud applause from Cudeca staff in appreciation for their dedicated help and hard work in the various areas of the charity.

Bea Thorington, one of the many dedicated tin collectors, was awarded this year?s ?Army General?s? tin helmet. The ?Cudeca Tin Army? (under the command of Marisa Ballestracci) is a hard working team of volunteers who spend their days collecting and controlling collection tins from businesses and bars along the coast.

The afternoon ended with live entertainment and disco fever as many took to the dance floor!  It was a very special day enjoyed by all and a great opportunity for all the Cudeca supporters to get together. Cudeca send warmest thanks to all the wonderful staff of the Valparaiso restaurant for their support and collaboration.
