In May 2007, Denise Holt received the honour of becoming the British Ambassador of Spain.  During an official visit to the coast in January 08, to see the British Consulate of Málaga, Bruce McIntyre, she was delighted to pay a visit to Cudeca Cancer Care Hospice, located in Arroyo de la Miel.  

Upon departing Mrs. Holt wrote a moving message in the visitors? book, expressing her deepest gratitude for the fabulous palliative care the Hospice provides to patients suffering from non-curable and advanced cancer within the province of Málaga.
