COMPREHENSIVE CARE PROGRAM FOR PEOPLE WITH ADVANCED DISEASES AND THEIR FAMILIES

The Cudeca Cancer Care  Hospice  wish to sincerely thank “la Caixa” Foundation for their great help and collaboration .

The main objective of the “la Caixa” Welfare Project (within the framework of the agreement signed with the Cudeca Hospice in its “Comprehensive Care Program for People with Advanced Illnesses and their Families”) is to help set up interdisciplinary programs of psychosocial care and comprehensive rehabilitation, to be able to offer quality care that alleviates suffering, maintains dignity and offers realistic hope.

“la Caixa” Foundation Program for the Comprehensive Care of People with Advanced Illnesses has 45 psychosocial care teams (EAPS), belonging to non-profit organizations specializing in this field, with presence in all 17 Autonomous Regions of Spain and which carry out their work in both the hospital and home environments.

Thanks to the Obra Social “La Caixa” Program, Cudeca has been able to promote and improve its own Psychological and Social Care Program by increasing the team with 2 more psychologists and 1 more social worker, offering psychological, social and spiritual assistance that complements health care.

Through this Program, these teams receive the necessary training, support and follow-up to carry out their work.

The aim is to improve the quality of life of people with advanced illnesses and their families. One of the challenges of the Program is to generate scientific evidence to prove that this type of patient and family care is both effective and efficient.
