Visit from Reto 360º Solidarios to Cudeca Hospice

Last week we received a visit from Reto 360º Solidarios to Cudeca Hospice. “El corredor errante”, Juan Andrés Camacho, along with two other runners, Paco Contreras and Pascal Libert, launched on the 11th of November a challenge to themselves to run around the perimeter of the province of Málaga (La Gran Senda), which took them 11 days.

The route was more than 700 kilometres, crossing more than 40 towns, where in addition to spreading awareness about the work carried out by Cudeca Hospice, they also raised much needed funds.

This challenge would not have been possible without the collaboration of the local government through which they ran. The Town Halls provided to the runners refreshment tables and food so that they could recover their energy, including even a place to sleep where they arrived at night.

Highlighting the participation of the sponsors, ENIX Sandals, not only did they supply the special footwear, which Juan Andrés used for the duration of the run, but they donated their profits for the 11 days which the challenge took. We also thank the company Mundo Rutas, who supplied provisions to the runners at each stage.

Thanks to the support of all the people who took part in this challenge, a total of 2,253 euros was raised which will go towards the costs of the care programmes of Cudeca Hospice, who attend to more than 1,000 persons a year with cancer and other illnesses in an advanced stage and without the possibility of a cure, and their families. The care and services are given totally free of charge.

We would like to thank Juan Andrés Camacho, the runners, Town Halls and sponsors, Mundo Rutas, Enix Sandals, Costa Jump, Club de Atletismo of Fuengirola, La Senda Mountain-Trail Running, Club Running UMA, Trekking & Running Marbella and Club Media Trail of Mijas for their collaboration and participation in Reto 360º Solidarios.
