US Anzio Marines visit Cudeca Hospice

On 23rd November, Cudeca was delighted to receive eight US Marines, together with Lieutenant Jennifer Hill, from the U.S.S Anzio, a US guided missile cruiser. In their spare time, the sailors like to keep up with COMREL (Community Relations Project) which involves helping with community services and being that the ship was docked in the Málaga port for a few days, they gladly came along to the Cudeca Hospice to lend a helping hand!

We were all extremely impressed with their military efficiency and in just a few hours they had sorted out the entire downstairs store room, painted all the exterior railings and many other tasks. All the hard work carried out was truly appreciated and Cudeca expresses sincere thanks to this dedicated group of people. The ship will be returning to base at Norfolk Virginia in a couple of weeks and the Marines are looking forward to seeing their families again following a tough seven months out at sea!

We are always in need of volunteers to carry out all sorts of tasks. If you would like to help out as a volunteer or alternatively become a benefactor, please telephone the Hospice on 952 56 49 10 or e-mail cudeca@cudeca.org.
