PRESS RELEASE

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED FOR OUR CHARITY SHOP IN MALAGA

PLEASE HELP US TO CONTINUE HELPING OTHERS

In October we will be opening our new Charity Shop in Malaga (El Palo) and

WE NEED YOUR HELP AS A VOLUNTEER

Fundación CUDECA ? Cancer Care Hospice ? in collaboration with the ?Área de Participación Ciudadana, Inmigración y Cooperación al Desarrollo? of the Málaga Town Hall will open a new Charity Shop in Malaga, (to the East in the El Palo district) on the 31st of October and we will need the help of 30 volunteers to run it.

What is CUDECA?

Fundación CUDECA - Cancer Care Hospice, is an NGO created in 1992 with the undertaking of offering Palliative Care to patients suffering from terminal cancer and support to their family during the illness and afterwards during the bereavement period. Our services are given ?totally free of charge? to those who need our special care throughout the Malaga province.

What is a Charity Shop?

In a Cudeca Charity Shop funds are raised thanks to the sale of items that have been donated, such as clothes, shoes, books, films, music, bric-a-brac etc.

How can a Volunteer help us?

The help of Volunteers is vital for a Charity Shop to work well, as without their valuable help they could not be run.

Amongst the different jobs that volunteers can do is that of spreading awareness of Cudeca?s work, decorating the shop and window, pricing and selling the goods, receiving and classifying the donations received, helping people who visit the shop etc.

We only need one morning a week of a volunteer?s time.  In each Charity Shop there are 30 volunteers, who help out in shifts of 6-7 volunteers for three or four hours a week.

If you would like to become a volunteer and help with the new Charity Shop in Mala
