Joan Hunt OBE receives award from La Opinion de Malaga newspaper

On 28th October, Opinión de Málaga celebrated in Restaurante Limonar 40 a gala of award giving -  "Premios Málaga 2015" -  in recognition of the contribution to progress and development which the award winners have made in the Province of Málaga. 
 
Joan Hunt OBE, Founder and Honorary President of Cudeca Hospice – Cancer Care received the award Premio Sociedad 2015 for her commitment to the development of the Foundation, from Elias Bendodo, President of the Diputación de Málaga.   

The gala was attended by personalities from the Málaga business and cultural world, representatives of institutions and political parties, namely the Mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre; Councillor for Education of the Junta de Andalucía, Adelaide de la Calle; First Vice President of the Congress of Deputies, Celia Villalobos; the President of the Provincial Deputation of Málaga, Elias Bendodo; and the Delegate of the Junta de Andalucía, José Luis Ruiz Espejo. 

The Business Award 2015 was presented by the Subdirector of General Management, Aurelio Romero to Federico Beltrán and his company Famadesa for the development of his business group formed 45 years ago in Campañillas. 

Sergio Scariolo received the Sports Award 2015 from the Director of Opinión de Málaga, Juan de Mellado, for his magnificent development of the Spanish basketball team as well as with his Foundation "Cesare Scariolo".

Salva Reina, winner of the "Biznaga de Plata" to the best actor in the XVII Festival of Málaga Spanish Cinema, received the Cultural Award 2015 from the Councillor of Education of the Junta de Andalucía, Adelaida de la Calle.  

The Torremolinos Town Hall won the Tourism Award 2015 for being the leader in tourism year after year on the Costa del Sol and Andalucía.  The Mayor of Torremolinos, José Ortiz, received the award from the Mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre.  

 The Gala was lead by Domi del Postigo, Ambassador for Cudeca Foundation and feature writer for the newspaper.  The awards were made by sculptor Juan Vega.
