Hong Kong Anniversary Party and Raffle for Cudeca Hospice

Benalmádena, 18th July 2013

On 8th July, a group of very enthusiastic ladies and Cudeca supporters from the Urbanization Jardín Botánico in La Cala de Mijas, held a charity party to celebrate the 1st anniversary of the Hong Kong restaurant in Jardín Botánico.

Owner of the restaurant, Sofia Wu, put on a delicious 4 course menu and superb entertainment throughout the evening for guests to enjoy.  She also held a charity raffle, thanks to the support of local businesses and friends who donated the prizes and managed to raise a fantastic 1.150€ for Cudeca Cancer Care Hospice.

Mark Driver, from the bar Snack Attack hosted the evening and presented a plaque to Sofia on behalf of all her friends at Jardín Botánico for her continuous charitable support.  Arran Harding, a local celebrity, wooed the ladies with his charm and delightful voice and Astra gave an impressive Belly Dancing performance.  A young boy also volunteered himself (with the consent of his very proud Mum) demonstrating card tricks at 1 euro a time and managed to raise another 70€ for the Hospice Centre.
Sofia has owned the restaurant Hong Kong for the past 8 years, but moved to a more spacious and lighter location just a few doors down, only last year.

Cudeca is eternally grateful to Linda Donaghy, President of the Urbanization Jardín Botánico, Liz Curzon, Sofia Wu, and to all the volunteers for making this such a special event and for raising those vital funds to help continue Giving Life to Days to those who need it most.
