Gala Dinner for the Cudeca Volunteers

Benalmádena, 1st June 2012

Cudeca Cancer Care Hospice held its Annual Volunteers Gala on Sunday 27th May at the Valparaiso Restaurant in Mijas. This year it was decided to hold this event in the evening to mark the 20th anniversary of the Hospice, and as per every year, it is a dedication to all the volunteers who help in the daily running of the Centre, who work in the 12 charity shops and those who care for our out-patients.

The dinner was very successful with the assistance of over 180 guests, including dedicated volunteers, friends and staff from various departments within the Centre.
During the evening, special awards were given to volunteers who have recently completed 80 years of age and who have dedicated their time to Cudeca for over 5 years; Mima Bresciani Saino, controller of the Artesano Shop, Sheila Linton from the Arroyo de la Miel Shop; Conchi Casado Romero and Carmen Melendez Mora, both from the El Palo Shop; Jean Fox from the Marbella Shop and Richard Sturman for his continued support in counting money from the Cudeca collection tins at the Hospice Centre.

Following the delicious meal, guests were entertained with live music on the beautiful open air terrace and quite a few hit the dancefloor!  Cudeca wishes to thank the owners of the restaurant Valparaiso for providing the venue and to the staff for their support and cooperation during the past seven years.
