Family & friends of Anita Ferriday travel from the UK to our centre in Benalmadena to present their cheque donation

In February, friends and relatives of the loving Anita Ferriday (14/01/1942 – 30/11/2019) gathered up to celebrate her life at the Walshaw Sports Club, Bury, Lancashire, England, to help us continue our special kind of caring. Last Tuesday, March 3, Anita Ferriday´s family and friends travelled from the United Kingdom to our centre to present their cheque donation with the funds raised in their memorial last month
At the memorial, there was an indoor green racetrack that sat on te floor with 6 lanes, and 31 squares moving in a forward direction. There were six wooden horses, ridden by the children of the people attending. They had two giant dice, one was rolled to pick a horse, the other was then rolled to see how many squares the horse advanced towards the finish line. All of the six races on the night were sponsored by local businesses in Lancashire (UK), and each of the six horses were also bought for a donation. The attendees on the night bet on each horse and recieved prizes if their horse won. Peter Rosenbloom, a very close family friend,  gave a short speech stating the work the we did by the care provided to Anita Ferriday.

On March 3, Peter Rosenbloom with family and friends of Anita Ferriday (John Alderson, Pete Rosenbloom, Gareth Wing, Dave Beaumont, Andy Singleton, Les Ferriday, Collette Addy, Alan Hardman & Malcolm Quilty) travelled to our centre in Benalmadena to personally thank us and present their cheque donation with GBP 1,500 (almost €1,800). The donation was received by Esther Raez with our Communication & Fundraising department with great appreciation. Anita Ferriday´s son, Les Ferriday, stated with deep emotion: “CUDECA has done so much for my mother and I am only thankful for the great care given to my mother. I will always remember”.

Special thanks are sent to Peter Rosenbloom for organizing the Anita´s Ferriday memorial and Les Ferriday for his committment with us and travelling with his friends and relatives to our centre to present their cheque donation.
