Day Care Center excursion to Puerto Marina

18th November

Returning to the nice idea of giving our patients and volunteeers a lovely day out away from their normal routine in the Day Care Centre, an excursion to Puerto Marina in Benalmádena was organised.

There were 16 persons from the Hospice, including volunteers, patients and personnel. At the Marina they all had a mediterranean breakfast on the terrace of a cafetería, taking advantage of a fabulous sunny morning.

Afterwards the patients and their assistants went for a ride around the Marina in the tourist train which they all thoroughly enjoyed. Then they went for a pleasant walk around the beach area which brought back fond memories to some of the patients.

Christine: It’s been six years since I haven’t been for a walk along the beach. I used to do it daily.
Evelyn: This is better than the medicine which I take every morning.
Terrence: This is why I came to Spain, to enjoy the sun.
Fernando: I’m shut in every day between 4 walls with the television. I can’t remember the last time I enjoyed myself so much. I hope we can do this again.

Back at the Hospice Centre the patients are still talking about their wonderful day out. It will be remembered by everyone for sometime to come.
