Benalmádena, 9th April 2013
This annual event will take place on Sunday 28th April and will commence for those who wish to participate, this year with a choice of three sponsored walks finishing at the Alberdini Rural Hotel in Competa;
- a) 5 km around the village of Competa
- b) 4 hour walk around Cerro Atalaya, Canillias de Albaida with a difference in altitude of 500 metres.
- c) 6 hour walk via Puerto Blanquillo, Cerro Verde and Cerro Atalaya, Canillas de Albaida with a difference in altitude of 630 metres.
The first sponsored walk started in 2006 with a small group of friends but has grown year on year, and annual event has so far, raised over 24,000€ for the Cudeca Cancer Care Hospice which provides a Special Kind of Caring to patients and their families within Málaga.
The Alberdini Hotel will then host the remainder of the day from 11am; with lots of entertainment for both adults and children. There will be a dedicated children’s activity area for children of all ages to include a tombola, non-alcoholic cocktail bar, cake decorating and face painting. In addition there will also be a Golf Putting Challenge, Wood Turning Demonstration, Darts Tournament, Tombola, Bric a Brac Stall, sealed auction bid for new unworn clothes and an antique doll, a chance to enjoy Reflexology, Reiki or a Back/Neck massage and a delicious homemade cake stall. There will also be a huge paella, tapas and live music from Geoff Murrell.
This promises to be a fantastic day, so please come along and join us, have fun and at the same time, support your local Hospice. Cudeca is a non-governmental and non-profit making organization, providing free palliative care to people with cancer and other advanced non-curable illnesses and support to their families, all within the province of Malaga.
