Christmas Swim for Cudeca

A group of “dippers” from the Benalmádena area, braved the seas on Christmas day 2009 to raise funds for Cudeca Cancer Care Hospice. The festive dip was on the beach at Mojacar Playa and following the brave plunge, the volunteers were rewarded with a glass of sol y sombra and a warm towel to dry off. The event was part of an organised four day trip with 114 friends staying at the local Hotel Puntazo.

Everyone had a wonderful fun day and it is something the group does every year. “Dressing up in costume is part of the fun and the dip is actually quite invigorating!” quotes one of the swimmers. Thanks to all involved, a grand total of over 1.100€ was raised for the Hospice, which will help Cudeca to continue offering the cost-free “Special Kind of Care” to patients suffering from advanced cancer.
