Charity Walk and Pub Crawl for Cudeca Hospice

Benalmádena, 27th July 2011

On Sunday 15th May around 40 residents of Fuengirola and the surrounding areas joined forces to do the 1st charity walk and pub crawl. Many walkers came in fancy dress to add some laughter to the day and people of all ages joined in. Sponsor money was raised by all participants and a number of pubs and restaurants agreed to display the Cudeca collection tins.

It was always the wish of Lindsay Claridge, an avid Cudeca supporter, that the Cudeca Hospice would receive 50 percent of the money raised with the other 50 percent being split between cancer charities back in the UK, on this occasion the charities were The Macmillan foundation and Cancer Research UK. She was delighted to announce that the final count raised from the event totalled €2342! An unbelievable amount for the first outing!
”Boyz Bits and Boobies” as the walkers group is now known, will be holding a Three legged fancy dress pub crawl on Sunday 16th October and anyone and everyone is welcome to join. All money raised for this day will be solely for Cudeca. Also the Sponsored walk and Pub crawl will from now on be an annual event! A huge thanks to all who took part and to The Claret Jug Restaurant, The Dolphin Pub, The Oasis Bar, Fools and Horses Bar, Shaggy´s Music Bar, and Iceland for the sponsor money they helped to raise.
