The Cudeca Hospice wins one of the BBVA AM grand prizes

The fund management BBVA Asset Management - BBVA AM - has awarded the Cudeca Hospice one of the three main prizes for the project "A place to fully live the life that remains until the end".

The project, which won a prize worth €100,000, aims to improve the well-being of 225 patients with an advanced stage of the illness in a different environment such as the Cudeca Day Unit.

The Day Unit is a rehabilitative, dynamic and active environment located in our centre in Benalmadena, dedicated to improving the quality of life of patients in all its aspects through physiotherapy, complementary therapies, self-image care and social & cultural activities. The team of nurses, physiotherapists, social workers and psychologists, complemented by the contribution of volunteers, works so that the patient can use their own resources to recover their autonomy and well-being. It also offers the possibility of a break to the family member in their work of caring.

On the other hand, Bancosol Alimentos, has been the lucky one to receive one of the 3 prizes valued at €37,090 for its project "Empléate", aimed at 50,528 people from all over the Andalusian province at risk of social exclusion with the aim of improving the quality of their lives through the development of a comprehensive programme. This programme helps to alleviate their situation and, when possible, facilitating access to employment.

The BBVA Awards are divided into different geographical categories: 3 national awards and 3 for each of the 7 regional offices of BBVA in Spain. This year a total of 232 entries were received, of which 16% were related to the environment, 34% to social inclusion and 50% to dependence on the elderly.

These awards are based on BBVA AM's commitment to donate 25% of the total management fee of the BBVA Futuro Sostenible SRI fund to solidarity projects, €1.2 million out of 27 projects throughout Spain.
