This past December, once again, the Cudeca Foundation received the support of the Mijas Town Council. This collaboration was formalised through the Agreement regulating the exceptional grant for the project: Home Palliative Care for patients in the municipality of Mijas in 2024.
Esta subvención contribuye al mantenimiento del servicio prestado por CUDECA en el municipio, en el que durante el año 2024, se han atendido a 147 pacientes, los/as cuales tienen una media de edad de 70 años, y en un 92% de los casos presentan enfermedades oncológicas.
The objectives of the Home Care service focus on improving quality of life, relieving suffering, and promoting autonomy for individuals with advanced illnesses who are facing the end-of-life stage. It promotes care that ensures dignity and peace during the dying process, keeping patients in their own homes, provided this is their wish and their situation allows it.
