Cudeca Hospice needs volunteers for transporting patients

Benalmádena, 15 /01/ 2014

Cudeca Hospice urgently requires volunteers who can pick up patients from their home and bring them to the Day Care Unit.

This particular volunteer activity makes it possible for our Day Care Unit patients to benefit from the specialised therapies offered by the unit. This service operates from 9.30 am to 10 am and from 1pm to 1.30 pm. The volunteer would have to use their own vehicle to pick up patients from their home, bring them to the Cudeca Hospice Centre and take them back home.  At the moment, our greatest need for volunteers is in the Malaga area.

At times, the volunteer may also be asked to accompany patients to different medical  appointments.

Volunteers undergo specific training  which will help them in their duties.  Different aspects of palliative care are dealt with as well as communication, information and mobilization of patients.

If you wish to help someone who needs our special kind of caring, please contact our Volunteers’ Department on 952 56 49 10 or by email voluntariado@cudeca.org
