# ClimbforCudeca-ConqueringTorrecilla
My husband, Steve, has been battling cancer for four years, and throughout this time Cudeca has been a vital source of support during some of our most difficult moments. Their care, warmth and compassion have made a huge difference, not only to him, but to me as well.
Cudeca’s work relies heavily on private donations, which enable them to continue offering support to families like ours. That is why this initiative has been launched as a way of saying thank you and giving back a little of what we have received
The challenge we have chosen is to climb Torrecilla Peak, the highest mountain in Málaga at 1,919 metres, located in the Sierra de las Nieves National Park. It is no easy hike: it begins with a steep climb through pine trees, continues across a challenging plateau and culminates in a gruelling final ascent to the summit, where breathtaking 360-degree views await us.
We’d love for you to join us in this challenge. And if you can’t join us, a donation is a very meaningful way to support this cause. Every step — and every contribution — helps ensure that Cudeca continues to be there for those who need it most.
