This programme arose as a response to everything that happened in old people&#8217;s homes during the COVID pandemic. The isolation to which the residents were subjected, together with the barbaric number of deaths in these homes meant that this very vulnerable group not only suffered the physical consequences but also the psychological consequences of loneliness and helplessness, of which there are still small traces to this day.<\/p>\n<p>Currently I continue to be responsible for this programme, attending to 4 residences. One in Estepona, two in Churriana and the last one in Alhaur\u00edn de la Torre. In addition, I am the reference psychologist for the Costa 2 home care team, which is distributed from Marbella to Manilva.<\/p>\n<p>I come from the residential area, where I have worked since 2008. It is a group that I feel is very forgotten or has a bad &#8220;reputation&#8221;. Being able to be part of a care team such as EAPS in this area is a recognition of the existing need, the dedication of resources and tools for the elderly to spend the last stage of their lives in the best possible way.<\/p>\n<p>In the field of home care, patients and relatives find themselves in a very stressful and delicate situation. The fact of being able to accompany them, in many occasions normalising everything they are feeling, is something that in my case fills me completely.
