Cudeca Institute is implementing training programmes in seven nursing homes in the province of M\u00e1laga. These programmes are being used for more than 80 health professionals (nurses, social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists, geroculturists…). The workshops are being carried out thanks to a grant from the Diputaci\u00f3n de M\u00e1laga as part of its funding programme for third sector organisations involved in the implementation of citizen care projects in the province of M\u00e1laga.<\/p>\n
These training programmes are benefiting 455 people. The training comprises face-to-face and online components and is in response to the needs of staff to improve care and adapt to the new challenges after the Covid-19 pandemic. The main focus is on care for dependency and end-of-life care and accompaniment, an area in which Cudeca has extensive experience based on more than three decades of work at our Benalm\u00e1dena hospice. The training programmes are also being used to improve the digital skills of residents with respect to smartphones.<\/p>\n
The programmes for nursing home staff are a fundamental part of the work being carried out by Cudeca Foundation through our Institute of Studies and Research. Improving palliative care in a comprehensive way is one of the organisation’s objectives, as well as continuing research into new forms of intervention and care to improve the way in which the end of life is approached.<\/p>\n
