{"id":27446,"date":"2022-05-18T14:37:59","date_gmt":"2022-05-18T14:37:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cudeca.org\/?p=27446"},"modified":"2022-05-19T14:16:31","modified_gmt":"2022-05-19T14:16:31","slug":"visita-del-presidente-de-la-diputacion-provincial-de-malaga","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cudeca.org\/en\/actualidad\/visita-del-presidente-de-la-diputacion-provincial-de-malaga\/","title":{"rendered":"Visit of the President of the Provincial Council of Malaga"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">On the 17th of May, the President of the Provincial Council of Malaga, Francisco Salado, visited our Hospice in Benalm\u00e1dena and our Yusuf Hamied Centre for Studies and Research.\u00a0 \u00a0To welcome him were our Chief Executive &amp; Medical Director, Dr. Marisa Mart\u00edn Rosell\u00f3, and our Deputy Chief Executive &amp; Financial Director, Rafael Olalla.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">The President of the Provincial Council thanked the Hospice for its work, which gives a &#8220;very special kind of caring&#8221; to people with advanced and terminal illnesses, and stressed the importance of specialised training in this field. He also expressed the support of the Provincial Council to Cudeca, which is being given in various ways such as the creation of the &#8216;Joan Hunt&#8217; award, an award which every year will pay tribute to the founder of the foundation and which will recognise the important contribution of the foreign population to the progress and social, economic and cultural development of the province.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">The Yusuf Hamied Centre for Palliative Care Studies and Research, inaugurated at the end of April, was built and equipped thanks to the donation of Dr. Yusuf Hamied. It is the first centre dedicated to the training of healthcare professionals at all levels to improve the quality of\u00a0 palliative care, as well as to develop innovative models of intervention and research.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">The training activities that will take place in this centre, will follow the principles and philosophy of integrated care that Cudeca has been developing for 30 years, and\u00a0 will in turn help to finance Cudeca Foundation&#8217;s activities and allow care to reach more patients.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">The building has facilities to cover all the services involved in its training and research work.
