The new postgraduate courses in Palliative Care at the University of Malaga (UMA), organised in collaboration with the Cudeca Institute, have already begun in the 2021\/2022 academic year. A total of twenty students are benefiting from this complete training offer, which combines the latest advances in research with the practical approach provided by the professionals of the Cudeca Foundation, thanks to their experience in the first hospice in Spain, with almost 30 years of experience behind them.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first of these courses is the Interdisciplinary University Master’s Degree in Palliative Care.<\/strong> A postgraduate course in blended learning format that has reached its third edition in its current form this year. This master’s degree has face-to-face classes once a week, but uses the online platform of the UMA to offer all the necessary tools to its students. Afterwards, they will be able to do their internships at the Cudeca Foundation. In this edition there are thirteen people enrolled, six from Medicine, three from Psychology, two from Nursing and two from Social Work. The course has a mainly multidisciplinary focus, encouraging teamwork between the different groups.<\/p>\n

The second of these courses is the Interdisciplinary University Expert in Palliative Care.<\/strong> This programme, in an online format, is now in its second edition and allows students to specialise in this field, also with a multidisciplinary approach and following the latest advances in the approach to this type of patient. Seven students are enrolled in this training, three from Medicine, three from Nursing and one from Social Work. Thanks to its 100% online nature, this course includes foreign students from the Dominican Republic and Argentina.<\/p>\n

The collaboration between Cudeca and the UMA has a long history of more than a decade in which it has been possible to train dozens of health professionals in the approach to palliative care patients.<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
