{"id":25910,"date":"2021-12-17T12:48:45","date_gmt":"2021-12-17T12:48:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cudeca.org\/?p=25910"},"modified":"2021-12-29T16:17:18","modified_gmt":"2021-12-29T16:17:18","slug":"gran-apoyo-de-la-fundacion-unicaja-al-programa-de-atencion-domiciliaria-de-cudeca","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cudeca.org\/en\/actualidad\/gran-apoyo-de-la-fundacion-unicaja-al-programa-de-atencion-domiciliaria-de-cudeca\/","title":{"rendered":"Great support from the Unicaja Foundation for our Home Care Programme"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]On 16 December, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fundacionunicaja.com\/\"><strong>Unicaja Foundation<\/strong><\/a> visited our facilities at the Palliative Care Centre to reiterate its commitment to support one of our seven home teams that help people with cancer and other advanced diseases by offering them specialised care in their homes,<\/p>\n<p>The visit was attended by the Head of the Social Solidarity and Education Area of the Unicaja Foundation, Ana Cabrera, and our Chief Executive and Medical Director, Dr. Marisa Mart\u00edn.<\/p>\n<p>The Unicaja Foundation has been collaborating with Cudeca for years in the development and maintenance of its Home Care Programme, consisting of various multidisciplinary teams, each consisting of a doctor, nurse, psychologist and social worker, all specialising in palliative care.<\/p>\n<p>Our Home Care Programme will attend to more than 1,700 patients this year. Each of the 7 home care teams visits an average of 250 people a year in their homes, using a holistic approach that seeks to alleviate, care for and accompany patients at the end of life, guaranteeing the dignity of the person in this process.\u00a0 We also offer vital emotional, social and spiritual support to the relatives of the sick, extending this assistance to the period of bereavement. In fact, we plan to support more than 2,200 relatives this year. All care is provided free of charge.<\/p>\n<p>Our professionals work in close collaboration with the Primary Care teams, who are responsible for the sick person at home, together with the emergency services and the referral hospitals of the Public Health System. The maintenance of this programme, supported in part by the Unicaja Foundation together with other institutions, is part of an essential contract that we have had since 2006 with the Andalusian Health Service.<\/p>\n<p>Our care is provided through the different care programmes: Home Care, Day Care Centre and Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy Programme, In-Patient Unit, Psychosocial Care and Counselling. We also actively develop study, training, research and awareness programmes in the field of palliative care, both for professionals and for volunteers, family members and Malaga society.
