{"id":25086,"date":"2021-05-14T06:58:19","date_gmt":"2021-05-14T06:58:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cudeca.org\/?p=25086"},"modified":"2021-05-14T11:36:46","modified_gmt":"2021-05-14T11:36:46","slug":"fundacion-unicaja-renueva-su-apoyo-al-programa-de-atencion-domiciliaria-de-la-fundacion-cudeca","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cudeca.org\/en\/actualidad\/fundacion-unicaja-renueva-su-apoyo-al-programa-de-atencion-domiciliaria-de-la-fundacion-cudeca\/","title":{"rendered":"Unicaja Foundation renews its support for the Cudeca Foundation Home Care Programme"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The institution reiterates its commitment by partially supporting one of the seven home teams that help people with cancer and other advanced diseases by offering them specialised care in their homes, last year attended to more than 1,600 patients were cared for.<\/p>\n<p>Unicaja Foundation renews its support for the Home Care Programme that Cudeca Foundation develops to improve the quality of life of many people who have to face an illness with no possibility of cure, an essential activity, even more so during the crisis resulting from COVID-19, maintaining its activity despite all the difficulties.<\/p>\n<p>The president of the Unicaja Foundation, Braulio Medel, and the manager and medical director of Cudeca, Marisa Mart\u00edn, have endorsed the renewal of the agreement between the two institutions.<\/p>\n<p>This support is part of one of the strategic priorities of the Unicaja Foundation, which aims to help groups in vulnerable situations, paying special attention to people with serious illnesses and ailments, helping to improve their quality of life.<\/p>\n<p>The Unicaja Foundation has been collaborating with Cudeca for years in the development and maintenance of its Home Care Programme, which is made up of various multidisciplinary teams, each consisting of a doctor, nurse, psychologist and social worker, all specialising in palliative care.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, Cudeca&#8217;s Home Care Programme cared for a total of 1,600 patients. Each of the 7 teams visits an average of 250 people a year in their homes, using a holistic approach to relieve, care for and accompany patients at the end of life, guaranteeing the dignity of the person in this process.\u00a0 They also offer vital emotional, social and spiritual support to the relatives of the sick, extending this assistance to the period of mourning. In fact, they plan to attend to a total of more than 2,200 relatives in 2021. All care is provided free of charge<\/p>\n<p>Cudeca&#8217;s professionals work in close collaboration with the Primary Care teams, who are the patient\u00b4s primary caregivers, together with the emergency services and the public administration\u00b4s reference hospitals. The maintenance of this programme, supported in part by the Unicaja Foundation together with other institutions, is part of an essential contract that Cudeca Hospice has maintained since 2006 with the Andalusian Health Service.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Two institutions united<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The renewal of this agreement is another step in the history of collaboration that the Unicaja Foundation has maintained with Cudeca, consolidated over the years in a variety of social, cultural and sporting activities, always aimed at strengthening the foundation and raising funds for its purposes.<\/p>\n<p>The Cudeca Hospice has helped more than 17,000 people since its creation in 1992, through its assistance programmes: Home Care, Day Unit and Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy Programme, Hospitalisation Unit, Outpatient Care, Psychosocial Care and Assisted Counselling. It also actively develops programmes of study, training, research and awareness of palliative care, both for professionals and for volunteers, relatives and the people of Malaga.
