Last October 19th,<\/sup> in collaboration with Big M Promotions, more than 80 people gathered up for the “Rock for CUDECA” concert featuring 2 of the coasts most popular Rock bands: Queen of Magic \u2013 (Fabulous Queen tribute band) and Crude Rock (covers of popular Rock hits) raising<\/strong> \u20ac850 to help us.<\/strong><\/p>\n

More than 80 people gathered at Qu\u00e9 bowling! in Las Lagunas to enjoy the concert and food was served as the first band started to perform, Crude Rock. They performed 3 tracks of their own latest edited albums, Loaded Gun, Rocking Night, Get in and Cowboysland; and, also, their own versions of Hard Rock classics from the 70s and 80s just like (The audience enjoyed the beginning of the night as they joined the rock beats of Lick it up(Kiss), High Voltage (Acdc), Eye of the tiger (Survivor) and Sweet Leaf (Black Sabbath). Jos\u00e9 Antonio Escalera, singer and leader of Crude Rock, was impressed with the audience\u00b4s enthusiasm and expressed: \u201cWe are very happy to participate in this event for CUDECA where the organization and the room are treating us great and we have been able to do our bit for such a great initiative. By the time Queen of Magic jumped in the stage, the room was full of energy and the rocker atmosphere was taking hold of everyone present. Queen of Magic performed the greatest hits of the British band, such as I want it all, Radio GaGa, Show must go on and I want to break free, driving the audience to the highest note of the evening.<\/p>\n

Big M Promotions lead by MartynWood was in charge of the promotion of the event as lighting and sound which provided the night with a great feeling of synergy between audience and bands. Martyn was satisfied when he stated that: \u201cIt is a great pleasure to be part of such a great event for charity and it has been a wonderful experience\u201d. Besides, David Mowbray, one the most active members of The Good Companions, added with satisfaction: \u201cI feel so overwhelmed by the beautiful attendance to all this good friends and how well the bands have performed, I feel we are helping CUDECA in the best way we can and that gives us a great push of motivation\u201d.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The venue was the well-known Que Bowling! leisure centre in Las Lagunas, Mijas Costa, which held its doors closed to the public and exclusively for the audience of this concert. The Cudeca volunteers were also present at the event helping out with the selling of the charity entrance tickets, raffle and giving information to everyone. The team of volunteers showed up in a self-made rock-uniform for the night: a black T-shirt with the CUDECA word written at the front together with a red bandanna round their necks, gesture that everybody appreciated and praised very much. On the Cudeca Hospice behalf, Esther R\u00e1ez with the Communication and Fundraising department, added with emotion: \u201cI am very glad to see how many friends David Mowbray has who support his initiatives and engage his community to charity actions to help us. From the Cudeca Hospice we are truly thankful to him, Martyn Wood, the bands, audience and our volunteers\u201d.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

THE GOOD COMPANIONS CLUB <\/strong><\/a>A Fuengirola based social, cultural, travel and charity association formed in September 1994. Members meet every Tuesday at the Manila Bar on the Paseo Maritimo, Fuengirola between 11 and 13.30, a social gathering to book tours, play games, enjoy a raffle and a quiz. Throughout the year day trips (which include a monthly shopping trip to Gibraltar) and excursions are organised to a variety of interesting places in Andalucia and several 3 or 4 day excursions in Spain and Morocco. All profits are donated to CUDECA, the Costa del Sol Cancer Care Association. Membership fees 9 euros per year and are payable at the beginning of the season (September). Guests are welcome and they pay 2 euros per visit. BIG M PROMOTIONS<\/strong><\/a> have been organising concerts and events, large and small, since the late 70s in the UK and since 2008 in Spain. Now combined with Costa del Disco, the retro music event website, Big M Promotions continue to provide top quality live music events in Spain. CRUDE ROCK<\/strong><\/a> is a Hard Rock band with influences from the 70\u00b4s & 80\u00b4s formed in 2013 in San Pedro Alc\u00e1ntara, (M\u00e1laga), which has four components with extensive experience in numerous musical projects of various styles.<\/p>\n

The band has so far three released works: “Burning legs” (2014), “The testing time” (2016) and “Loaded gun” (2017) that continue to promote on stage.There are many cities where CRUDE ROCK has taken its powerful and unmistakable live performance as Madrid, Badajoz, Murcia, Ceuta, C\u00f3rdoba, Alicante, Almer\u00eda, Ciudad Real, etc.\u00a0\u00a0 For this occasion, in such a special event with CUDECA, the band has prepared a repertoire with a good number of versions of great bands like AC\/DC, Kiss, Motley Cr\u00fce, Bon Jovi, Black Sabbath and Whitesnake among others; bands that have influenced CRUDE ROCK since their beginning.<\/p>\n

QUEEN OF MAGIC <\/strong><\/a>Play the songs of QUEEN totally live, including the real sounds of each song for the public to feel that you are listening to the real QUEEN band. Wide repertoire including all the hits of the group played very faithfully, emulating the concert and the sounds that made the British band famous. \u00a0An interesting fact about what QUEEN OF MAGIC offers: Nine songs played exactly as in the original albums and another nine songs recreating sound and magic from the mythical show offered at Wembley in 1986.
