{"id":17416,"date":"2018-05-16T10:58:41","date_gmt":"2018-05-16T10:58:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cudeca.org\/en\/?p=17416"},"modified":"2018-05-16T10:58:41","modified_gmt":"2018-05-16T10:58:41","slug":"talented-young-pianists-raise-e448-at-recital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cudeca.org\/en\/actualidad\/talented-young-pianists-raise-e448-at-recital\/","title":{"rendered":"Talented young pianists raise \u20ac448 at recital"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hungarian composer Bela Bart\u00f3k (1881-1945) would have been impressed last Thursday, May 10<sup>th<\/sup> with the performance of pieces from his \u2018For Children\u2019 piano solos collection by 37 pupils from Melilla\u2019s Professional Music Conservatory, in aid of Cudeca Hospice.<\/p>\n<p>The event, a culmination of the \u2018La Mirada de Bart\u00f3k\u2019 project led by teacher Jorge Ramon Ortiz Ruiz, focused on the composer\u2019s fascination with folkloric music. As an ethnomusicologist, Bart\u00f3k spent much of his life touring countries with his inseparable gramophone, recording the folk songs he encountered on his trips.<\/p>\n<p>The evening\u2019s piano recital in Benalmadena\u2019s Bil Bil Castle was made up of two parts with the young musicians, aged between nine and 16 years, each performing a short piece before a brief interval.<\/p>\n<p>After the break the talented children went on to perform the renowned \u201c6 Romanian Dances\u201d, followed by six Bulgarian rhythm pieces.\u00a0 Then came a short recital by Sr Ortiz and the finale saw the eldest pupil give an impressive interpretation of \u201cAllegro B\u00e1rbero\u201d, a work true to the folkloric spirit of the Balcans.<\/p>\n<p>The event was well attended with 100% of the ticket price going to support the CUDECA Foundation and a total of \u20ac448 was raised.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;d\u00a0like to thank the Melilla Music Conservatory\u2019s staff and pupils for their wonderful performance, and for coming from the North African enclave to support us.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hungarian composer Bela Bart\u00f3k (1881-1945) would have been impressed last Thursday, May 10th with the performance of pieces from his \u2018For Children\u2019 piano solos collection by 37 pupils from Melilla\u2019s Professional Music Conservatory, in aid of Cudeca Hospice.
