A Charity Bridge Tournament<\/strong>, organised by Graham Speake<\/strong> and John Shakesheff <\/strong>, was held on Saturday 28th October at Kokomo Restaurant <\/strong><\/a>in aid of us and with the assistance of John's wife Audrey <\/strong>and Lucy Goodson<\/strong> raised a total of \u20ac700,00 from the 55 players who attended.<\/div>\n
On the afternoon, Graham welcomed everyone, setting out the format and mentioning special prizes to be awarded for certain winning 'tricks' during the afternoon's play, and thanking all the sponsors of the event.<\/div>\n
The players were treated to a Cava reception, a full afternoon of Chicago Bridge, followed by a sumptuous Afternoon Tea provided by Sally<\/strong> and her staff at Kokomo<\/strong>.<\/div>\n
After a very close competition, prizes were given to the 1st three pairs. Winners were Peter and Lisa Plant<\/strong>. 2nd<\/strong> were Harry and Henny Hinnen <\/strong>and 3rd Helena and Marie-Jo Buckland<\/strong> with special prize<\/strong> awarded to Gavin and Sheila Petrie.<\/strong><\/div>\n
In addition to the contribution from Kokomo a number of local businesses generously donated raffle prizes namely ; The Robin Hood Inn<\/strong><\/a> in BenaMara, The English Butcher<\/a><\/strong>, Ibex Insurance <\/strong><\/a>and Cath's Cards<\/strong><\/a> all from BenaVista and Retro Furniture<\/strong><\/a> of Estepona.<\/div>\n
Graham and John were especially pleased with the attendance on the day and were pleased to be able to present the cheque for the \u20ac700,00 to Ester Raez Martinez, one of the fund raisers from Cudeca at one of the clubs' subsequent meetings.<\/div>\n
