25th Anniversary Concert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"notCuerpo\">\n<div>On the evening of 25th April, we celebrated\u00a0our 25th anniversary (1992-2017) of providing specialist palliative care to patients suffering from a non-curable illness. \u00a0<br \/>  \u00a0<br \/>  The celebration concert was held at the Cervantes Theatre, M\u00e1laga, with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.domidelpostigo.es\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Domi de Postigo<\/strong><\/a>, journalist and ambassador of Cudeca, acting as Master of Ceremonies.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>Cudeca Founder <strong>Joan Hunt<\/strong> with <strong>Dr. Marisa Mart\u00edn<\/strong>, Chief Executive, welcomed more than 700 attendees at the commencement of the evening. \u00a0They thanked the community for the support of all those attending, as well as the City of Malaga, the Provincial Council of Malaga, the Provincial Symphony Orchestra of Malaga, solidarity artists who have collaborated to make the celebration concert possible.\u00a0 They stressed that <em>&#8220;it is with pride we celebrate 25 years caring for many people at the end of life. \u00a0Since 1992 Cudeca has been providing free care to more than 13,000 people thanks to the support of the community. \u201c<\/em><br \/>  \u00a0<br \/>  The concert commenced with the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/sinfonicamalaga\/\" target=\"_blank\">Provincial Symphonic Orchestra of M\u00e1laga<\/a><\/strong>, under the direction of <strong>Salvador V\u00e1zquez<\/strong>, with their interpretation of a selection of Beethoven music;\u00a0the second part consisting of operatic music with performances by noted soprano <strong>Berna Perles, Chilean tenor Rodrigo Orrego and pianist Cristina Alba Padial.<\/strong><br \/>  \u00a0<br \/>  At the conclusion of the concert, the Mayor of M\u00e1laga, <strong>Francisco De la Torre<\/strong>, expressed his appreciation for the &#8220;great work carried out over 25 years by CUDECA&#8221; and stressed the<em> &#8220;important support of the community and the 900 volunteers who each day help Cudeca to continue taking care of patients&#8221;.<\/em><br \/>  \u00a0<br \/>  At the end of the concert flowers were presented to the artists by the Mayor of M\u00e1laga, <strong>Francisco De la Torre<\/strong>; the second vice-president of the Diputaci\u00f3n Provincial de M\u00e1laga, <strong>Ana Carmen Mata<\/strong>; and on behalf of CUDECA, from <strong>Joan Hunt, <\/strong>Founder &amp; Honorary President;<strong> Ricardo Urdiales<\/strong>, President; and <strong>Marisa Mart\u00edn<\/strong>, Chief Executive and Medical Director.<br \/>  \u00a0<br \/>  All the fundraising from the concert will go to the specialized care of the Cudeca Hospice, which assists completely free of charge more than 1,300 people each year suffering from cancer or other advanced diseases, as well as offering support to their families.<br \/>  \u00a0<br \/>  <strong>The concert was made possible with thanks to the collaboration of:<\/strong><br \/>  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.malaga.eu\"
