{"id":16413,"date":"2016-02-15T18:48:05","date_gmt":"2016-02-15T18:48:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cudeca.org\/actualidad\/good-companions-club-support-to-cudeca-hospice-4\/"},"modified":"2016-02-15T18:48:05","modified_gmt":"2016-02-15T18:48:05","slug":"good-companions-club-support-to-cudeca-hospice-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cudeca.org\/en\/actualidad\/good-companions-club-support-to-cudeca-hospice-4\/","title":{"rendered":"Good Companions Club support to Cudeca Hospice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"notCuerpo\">\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">Benalm\u00e1dena, 15th February 2016<br \/>  Author: Nati G\u00f3mez<br \/>  \u00a0<br \/>  <strong>Susan Hannam, Vice President<\/strong> of Cudeca Hospice, was privileged to receive a very generous donation of 8,500\u20ac at the Annual General Meeting of the <strong>Good Companions Club\u00a0on 9th February<\/strong>.<br \/>  \u00a0<br \/>  This is the <strong>21st annual donation<\/strong> that has been made to Cudeca and brings the cumulative\u00a0total for the past 21 years to 168,185 euros.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>  The Club was inaugurated by volunteers from the Fuengirola Charity shop in 1995, and has lived up to its promise of making an annual donation towards the care of patients in our Cudeca Hospice.<br \/>  \u00a0<br \/>  Our Fuengirola Charity shop was opened in 1992 and it was in 1995 that the shop volunteers felt that they wanted to do something more to support Cudeca\u2019s special care.\u00a0 Over the years membership has grown and the activity of the Club provides many enjoyable events, the weekly meeting with Bingo etc, evening dinners and those great trips to different parts of Spain.\u00a0<br \/>  \u00a0<br \/>  In return the members continue their promise to support Cudeca Hospice. To the end of 2015 Cudeca have cared for more than 11,000 patients, the majority at home with their family and for those that are alone or need special care we have our lovely In-Patient Unit with nine rooms.<br \/>  \u00a0<br \/>  Everyone in Cudeca send heartfelt thanks to all the members for their continued support to the Cudeca Hospice and congratulations on the great success of the Club.\u00a0 May it continue for many years to come.<br \/>  \u00a0<br \/>  At the moment the Club <strong>is looking for new members, please feel free to join them<\/strong>, you\u2019ll be made very welcome. Good Companions meet each Tuesday at Manila Bar, in Los Boliches at 11.30 am for a social gathering, and their common interest is supporting Cudeca.
