Last Friday, March 27th, the \u201cL\u00e1grimas y Favores\u201d Foundation<\/strong><\/a>, chaired by Antonio Banderas<\/a><\/strong>, handed over a gift cheque to the Cudeca Hospice – Cancer Care Foundation during a gala dinner organised by El Corte Ingl\u00e9s<\/a> at the Diputaci\u00f3n de M\u00e1laga<\/a> (Provincial Government).

Antonio Banderas <\/strong>himself gave Dr. Marisa Mart\u00edn<\/strong>, Cudeca Hospice's CEO and Medical Director, a cheque for \u20ac25,000, which shall be used to continue giving life to the days of over 900 patients with cancer and other advanced or terminal diseases through the multidisciplinary programmes: Home Care, Out \u2013patient clinics, Counselling service, Day Care, Psychological an Social care, Day\u00a0 centre & \u00a0Rehabilitation unit, and In-patient unit. \u00a0

The University of Malaga<\/strong><\/a>, Caritas<\/a><\/strong> and the Corinto Foundation<\/strong> also received considerable donations throughout 2014 from the L\u00e1grimas y Favores Foundation's solidarity projects.

Numerous celebrities from Malaga's society joined us for this key event: Malaga's Lord Mayor, Francisco de la Torre<\/strong>; President El\u00edas Bendodo<\/strong>, Vice-President Ana Mata, Emiliana Jim\u00e9nez<\/strong>, parlamentarian in charge of Specialised Help Centres and Jes\u00fas Fortes<\/strong>, delegated parlamentarian for Human Resources, on behalf of the Provincial Government; Chancellor Adelaida de la Calle <\/strong>and Vice-Chancellor Carlos de las Heras<\/strong>, on behalf of the University of Malaga; Juan Manuel Moren<\/strong>o, Chairman of the People's Party of Andalusia; Jos\u00e9 Lu\u00eds Ru\u00edz<\/strong>, Central Government Representative for Andalusia.

The \u201cL\u00e1grimas y Favores\u201d Foundation<\/strong> was founded in 2010 for the dedicating its fullest efforts in collaborating with the University of Malaga and the Cudeca Hospice – Cancer Care Foundation in procuring educational funding for the underprivileged, and free of charge palliative care for people suffering from advanced cancer, providing support also to their families.

We shall therefore always grateful to the \u201cL\u00e1grimas y Favores\u201d Foundation\u00b4s unconditional support, which is most welcome and necessary for Cudeca Hospice.
