{"id":16219,"date":"2013-10-14T18:18:23","date_gmt":"2013-10-14T18:18:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cudeca.org\/actualidad\/cudeca-celebrates-world-palliative-care-day-with-voices-for-hospices-concert\/"},"modified":"2013-10-14T18:18:23","modified_gmt":"2013-10-14T18:18:23","slug":"cudeca-celebrates-world-palliative-care-day-with-voices-for-hospices-concert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cudeca.org\/en\/actualidad\/cudeca-celebrates-world-palliative-care-day-with-voices-for-hospices-concert\/","title":{"rendered":"Cudeca celebrates World Palliative Care Day with Voices for Hospices Concert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"notCuerpo\">\n<div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">  \t\tOn 12th October, the <strong>Cudeca Cancer Care Hospice <\/strong>celebrated <strong>World Pallative Care Day<\/strong>, by holding a charity concert <strong>\u201cVoices for Hospices&#8221;<\/strong> at the Maria Cristina Hall in Malaga, thanks to the invaluable collaboration of the 10 <strong>Lyrical Soloists<\/strong> from M\u00e1laga, and the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.obrasocialunicaja.es\" target=\"_blank\">Social Work of Unicaja<\/a>.<\/strong><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">  \t\t\u00a0<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">  \t\tThe <strong>World Palliative Care Day<\/strong> is organised by the committee of the Global Alliance of Palliative Care, a network of centres, national and regional organizations that support the development of Palliative care. This International day, has the aim of raising funds and awareness to the community and ensures that all the people in the world have the right to receive quality care at the final stage of their lives.\u00a0 More than 400 Hospice Centres, deliver more than 500 simultaneous concerts in more than 60 countries. This year&#039;s worldwide theme is &#039;The achievement of universal coverage to Palliative care: \u2018dispelling myths&#039;.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">  \t\t\u00a0<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">  \t\t<strong>The Trustee of Cudeca, Emilio Alba<\/strong>, opened the concert with warm words and introduced the 10 soloists and pianists from M\u00e1laga who gave a magical charity performance with renowned compositions by Mozart, Dvor\u00e1k, Verdi, Bellini, Soutullo and Vert etc.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">  \t\t\u00a0<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">  \t\t<strong>To end the concert<\/strong>, Diego V\u00e1zquez from Unicaja Social Work, Emilio Alba and Susan Hannam, Cudeca Trustees; and Marisa Mart\u00edn presented each artist with a beautiful sunflower, the international symbol of Palliative Care, donated by the<a href=\"http:\/\/floristeriabenalmadena.com\" target=\"_blank\"> Florist Juani<\/a> in Benalm\u00e1dena Pueblo.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">  \t\t\u00a0<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">  \t\t<strong>Also attending the concert were<\/strong>, Francisco Pomares, Councilor of Citizen Participation of the M\u00e1laga Town Hall; Liz Parry, Editor of the newspaper Sur in English along with friends and volunteers of the Cudeca Hospice.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">  \t\t\u00a0<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">  \t\t<strong>Apart from enjoying a memorable afternoon<\/strong>, we managed to raise a total of 708,23\u20ac was raised which will help to cover the costs of the Health Care Programs that cares for more than 800 people each year with cancer and other advanced and non-curable illnesses apart from providing support to their families.
