{"id":16171,"date":"2013-02-04T18:06:38","date_gmt":"2013-02-04T18:06:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cudeca.org\/actualidad\/the-benalmdena-mayorees-visits-the-cudeca-hospice\/"},"modified":"2013-02-04T18:06:38","modified_gmt":"2013-02-04T18:06:38","slug":"the-benalmdena-mayorees-visits-the-cudeca-hospice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cudeca.org\/en\/actualidad\/the-benalmdena-mayorees-visits-the-cudeca-hospice\/","title":{"rendered":"The Benalm&#225;dena Mayorees visits the Cudeca Hospice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"notCuerpo\">\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">  \tOn the 4th of February, being World Cancer Day, the Cudeca Hospice, <strong>Cudeca Cancer Care Hospice<\/strong>, received a very special visit from the Benalm\u00e1dena Mayoress, Paloma Garc\u00eda G\u00e1lvez, and the councillors for Health and Community Participation , Inmaculada Hern\u00e1ndez and Ana Mac\u00edas.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">  \t\u00a0<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">  \tThe Mayoress and Councillors were given the opportunity to see how the<strong> In-Patient Unit<\/strong> of the Hospice is run. They were accompanied by Rafael Olalla, Cudeca\u2019s Financial Director; Rafael G\u00f3mez, Manager of the Care Teams; and Roc\u00edo Torres, Manager of Communications and Fundraising, together with representatives of the different areas of Cudeca\u2019s Care Programmes. They were shown the work carried out daily by each person within the care teams, doctors, nurses, physiotherapist, psychologists and social workers.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">  \t\u00a0<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">  \tThe <strong>In-Patient Unit<\/strong> was created to offer patients 24 hour specialised care to relieve painful physical symptoms or attend to emotional or social problems.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">  \t\u00a0<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">  \tEvery year Cudeca cares for <strong>more than 750 patients <\/strong>with advanced and non-curable illnesses, with support to their family.\u00a0 This service is given\u00a0 totally without cost.
