\tCudeca Cancer Care Hospice, held its Annual Care, Financial and Voluntary Results Presentation for 2010.<\/div>\n
\t\u00a0<\/div>\n
\tThe event was attended by many authorities, businesses, volunteers and supporters of the Hospice as well as the municipalities of Benalm\u00e1dena, M\u00e1laga, Mijas, Fuengirola and Alhaur\u00edn el Grande. Also collaborators such as the Costa del Sol Health District, Hare Benalm\u00e1dena, Unicaja, Cajasol, Xanit International, Croasa, AECC, Colegio Internacional Torrequebrada, M\u00e1laga Siglo XXI, Plaza Mayor, Restaurante Los Mellizos, Rendelsur and the University of Malaga.<\/div>\n
\t\u00a0<\/div>\n
\tPresent on behalf of Cudeca, were President and Founder, Joan Hunt OBE; Chief Executive and Medical Director, Dr. Marisa Mart\u00edn Rosell\u00f3, Deputy Chief Executive \u2013 Financial Director, Rafael Olalla and the Director of Nursing, Susan Hannam, who consequently awarded the Cudeca 2010 Golden Pin to the Good Companions group (represented by Tony White), in recognition for their continuous support to Cudeca since 1995 and their fantastic fundraising achievement of 123,000\u20ac to date for the Hospice Centre.<\/div>\n
\t\u00a0<\/div>\n
\tWith regards to medical achievements<\/strong>, Dr. Martin explained that “2010 was a year full of excitement, as just when our Care Programme was in financial difficulites, we began to receive economic assistance and volunteer aid, allowing us to care for another 100 patients than the previous year. The figures are detailed below:<\/div>\n

\tWith regards to our financial situation<\/strong>, Rafael Olalla explained that 2010 was a great year from a financial perspective. Not only have we managed to reduce the deficit by 33% from -415,000\u20ac to -280,000\u20ac, but we have gratefully received legacies of properties, allowing us to estimate that in 2011 the income will cover expenditure<\/strong>. However, it is important to understand that our long-term future remains uncertain<\/strong>, given the unpredictable nature of our inheritances.<\/div>\n

\tThe future of our Hospice is without doubt our greatest challenge: we need to maintain the support of the community of Malaga<\/strong>, which includes volunteers, donations, sponsorships, public entities, banks and other support.<\/div>\n

\tAll the developments during the past year have been made possible thanks to numerous companies, institutions and professionals within the media who are committed to our cost-free project, helping us to meet the needs of patients suffering from advanced cancer and support to their families.
