New Roman\">\u00a0<\/font><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"3\">\u00a0<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"3\">Almost <b>500 people<\/b> walked for Cudeca Cancer Care Hospice on Sunday 23rd September, setting off from the beachside of<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Sunset Beach Hotel, Benalm\u00e1dena.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>The Walkathon is Cudeca?s most popular and successful fundraising event.<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"3\">\u00a0<\/font><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"3\">This year was the fifth walk organised by Cudeca and was very well attended by both walkers and supporters including staff from Andalucian Dream Homes, the leading Real Estate on the coast, and official Sponsor for this year, generously donating 10,000 Euros towards the cost of printing, t-Shirts, etc.<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"3\">\u00a0<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"3\">There were three different routes with varying levels of difficulty: a two-kilometre walk to Torrequebrada, a five-kilometre to the Benalm\u00e1dena Marina, and the long 10 kilometre return walk.<span>\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Cudeca?s physiotherapist Carolina Mart\u00edn, and Laura Haggis from the Fundraising department, gave a warm up stretching session at the start.<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"3\">\u00a0<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"3\">The non-walkers were entertained all day by Mel Williams and his music plus a host of other professional singers and dancers from M\u00e1laga province.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>There was plenty of delicious food available ranging from Belgium and Vietnamese, to a huge BBQ.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>The company ?Exploram\u00e1s? provided games and activities for children and adults alike.<span>\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>For those seeking alternative therapy, Louisa Guy and Janie Forbes, Cudeca Volunteers, offered various types of therapy including Reiki and massage. <\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"3\">\u00a0<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"3\">The top three fundraisers (via individual sponsorship) were awarded with a prize; 1st prize went to Enrique G\u00f3mez from Cajasol bank who, for the second year, raised a magnificent 3,000 Euros; 2nd prize went to Chris Knapp with 1,035 and 3rd to the Nevada Bar for 1,000.<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"3\">\u00a0<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"3\">The raffle<span>\u00a0 <\/span>proved very popular with prizes generously provided by local sponsors,<span>\u00a0 <\/span>which included overnight accommodation at the Byblos Hotel and the Alay Hotel, dinner for two at various restaurants, entrance tickets to Selwo and Fuengirola Zoo, Coca-Cola packs, Detox treatments, Devine Nail manicure, Bowling lessons and
