The closing ceremony of the 15th<\/sup> anniversary of Fundaci\u00f3n Cudeca, was held on Wednesday, the 27th<\/sup> of February, at the Hospice Centre at Avda. del Cosmos s\/n, Arroyo de la Miel, Benalm\u00e1dena.<\/font><\/font><\/span><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/font><\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

This ceremony was attended by Mr. Jos\u00e9 Luis Marcos Medina, Government Delegate for the Junta de Andaluc\u00eda in Malaga; Mr. Javier Carnero Sierra, Mayor of Benalm\u00e1dena, together with\u00a0 <\/span>his Councillors for Social Welfare, Sports and Festivities; Ms. Amparo Bilbao, Provincial Delegate for the Council on Equality and Social Welfare; Mr. Julio Andrade, Delegate for the Area on Citizens Participation of the Malaga Town Hall; Mr. Maurice Boland, Honorary Trustee of Cudeca and Director of REM FM, together with many other personalities related to the health sector, local government and companies who have given their support since 1992 and who wished to join Joan Hunt OBE, President and Founder, on this special occasion in celebrating the Foundation?s 15th<\/sup> Anniversary.<\/font><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

After the presentation of Cudeca?s history over the last 15 years and its projects for the future by Marisa Martin, Medical Director and Rafael Olalla, Financial Director, an emotive video was shown giving the testimony of one of the 5.000 patients who have received the palliative care that Cudeca offers completely free, all over the province of Malaga.<\/font><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

To close the event, Mr. Juan Antonio Astorga, a Cudeca Trustee, and Mr. Maurice Boland, Honorary Trustee of Cudeca, presented Mr. Jos\u00e9 Luis Marcos Medina, Government Delegate for the Junta of Andaluc\u00eda in Malaga, with the Golden pin of Fundacion Cudeca.<\/font><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

By celebrating this event, Cudeca wished to convey\u00a0 <\/span>its heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to all those friends who have made it possible for this project to become a reality and to make a call for help to the community, companies and public organisations to enable us to make up the deficit of 600.000? within the annual expenses of 2.000.000? that the Foundation has to meet.\u00a0 <\/span>If things continue in this trend, the continuity and maintenance of the In Patient Unit, which opened in 2006, will be at risk by 2009, due to its high maintenance costs and its need of greater financial support. <\/font><\/font><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n
