Maurice had the great idea of asking people to run a BBQ on that specific day, then to invite their guests to contribute to Cudeca Hospice as the price of attending. Maurice suggested that the organisers should contact REM.fm in order to &#8220;register&#8221; the BBQ, then on the day he contacted many of the organisers and their guests live on air. <\/p>\n<p>The weather stayed good (well, if you can\u00b4t rely on weather on the Costa del Sol in August, things <strong>have<\/strong> changed) and over 30 organisers registered and ran events. In addition, various companies and private individuals \u00b4phoned in with donations. The total amount is still being finalised, but already it is known that the event <strong>raised over \u20ac11,000<\/strong> for the &#8220;Save the In-Patients Unit&#8221; Campaign.
