Cudeca Cancer Care Hospice held its Volunteers Luncheon at the Valparaiso restaurant in Mijas on Sunday 23rd January. This annual event is a dedication to all the volunteers who help in the day to day running of the Hospice, work in the 12 Cudeca charity shops and those who attend to the patients. The event was very well attended with 175 dedicated Cudeca supporters, including friends and also staff from diverse departments within the Hospice.
The live entertainment was provided this year by Juan Salvador Garcia on the keyboard accompanied by vocalist Sonya Rodriguez. Following the superb luncheon, Dr. Marisa Martín, Chief Executive & Medical Director and Rafael Olalla, Financial Director, expressed their heartfelt appreciation to all the volunteers for their dedicated work during the past year.
Marjorie Rodriguez and Gill Henney from Estepona with Joan Carter who works in the
Fuengirola charity shop, were awarded for having reached the grand age of 80 and are still working each with more than 5 years of service to the Hospice. Natividad Lillo proceeded with the grand raffle and the lucky winners took home fabulous prizes kindly donated by local friends and businesses.
It was a great opportunity for all the Cudeca supporters to get together and exchange conversations. Cudeca would like to thank Rafael Morelli, owner of the Valparaiso restaurant and his wonderful staff for their support and collaboration over the past eight years.
