Dino and Jo from the restaurant Los Naranjos in Mijas celebrated their annual charity event in aid of Cudeca on Saturday 13th August 2011.

 

The generosity of their patrons, local businesses and individuals who donated cash & items for the raffle & auction has again proven to be overwhelming. With the current economic situation as it is, Los Naranjos managed to raise a total of 5.032€ with a BBQ Hog roast attended by over 130 people.

 

With the music of Crossroads of Mijas, and performances by Gary “the reverend Toon” Young, Rob Stevens and a special appearance by Madge of Benidorm AKA Helen, really got the audience on their feet shouting for more.

 

Thanks to the Chef Stevie, and Tom, Sam, Katherine and Darrell, who helped with serving a fantastic 82 kgs of Hog roast prepared by Geoff & Sally along with the buffet of salads which were enjoyed by all.

 

The night was compared by Tom Ball, and Dino played the role of Auctioneer and thanked the generosity of all those who donated the items and generally supported the event; (Artesania de Espana, Benitez Furniture, Cala Nova Golf Club, Calvin @ David Glen Hairdressing, Chicken shop in Mijas, Dreams Furniture Stores, El Brujo Restaurant, El Capricho Restaurant, Fiesta Bar, Forget me Not Flower shop, Iceland, Imperial Furniture store, Lavender Blue, Lew Hoad Tennis Club, Molino Del Curo Thai Restaurant, Panoramicvillas.com “Allan & Julia”, Suave Restaurant, Tamisa Hotel, Tickled Pink, Tracey @ C1 Hairdressing, Valpraiso Restaurant on Mijas Road, Woods Direct & Yorkshire Linen ).

 

A special thank you to Celebrity Chef Anthony W. Thompson and Jay for attending & donating a cookery day out at their Restaurant and a meal for 2, Colin & Jill Habgood, Jon & Sarah Poole, Shirley Crook, Margaret Shotton & Richard & Helen Garside for their hard work in collecting most of these prizes and above all to Andy Moon for her huge input in the organization.
