This is a special year for us, as we all know. The 20th Anniversary and our annual Sunflower Campaign seemed an excellent excuse for organising a little competition between the shops! Previously this would not have been possible, as not all our shops even had display windows, but recently we have moved a few shops to better locations, so what better time than now to celebrate such a shop-wide competition.
The 12 shops were asked to have special displays ready for the duration of the sunflower campaign, to be evaluated upon originality, representation of the theme (Cudeca 20th Anniversary – Sunflower Campaign), and overall attractiveness. We took photos of each window (this was very difficult, due to reflections), and sent them to a panel of judges from outside Cudeca, who decided the winning entry: Nerja shop!
The creativity this released is really fantastic. A few of the windows are more than what meets the eye: one of the shops involved a local primary school and asked the children to make pictures of sunflowers to put in our window; another shop put up photos of past events they organised and volunteers who have come and gone over the years; another one invited customers to dedicate a sunflower to a loved one. Another shop had a tag with every volunteer’s name, and yet another one involved local artists to paint sunflowers on the windows.
Congratulations to all the shops for creating such an enjoyable display to commemorate this special year!
