Thanks to the collaboration agreement recently signed together with the University of Malaga, Cudeca Cancer Care Hospice is participating in the summer courses offered by the University of Málaga throughout the province of Málaga and has already commenced with talks on the Hospice at the opening and closing events, with awareness tables where Cudeca staff distribute information regarding the Hospice, how to become a Benefactor, raising funds via the collection tins, and the sunflowers, the emblem of the Hospice Centre.
Attending the inauguration courses in the Capital of Málaga, were Margarita Salas, “Doctora Honoris Causa from the University of Malaga, Francisco Martos, General Director of the General Foundation of the University of Malaga, Jose Angel Narvaez, Vice President for Research, Bernardo Diaz Nosti, Doctor of the UNESCO and Manuel Sawaya, General Director of Unicaja.
Attending the opening of courses in Archidona, were, Dr. Enrique Moreno, Doctor Honoris Causa by the University of Malaga and the 1999 Prince of Asturias Award winner for Technical and Scientific Research, Maria del Rosario Cabello, Vice Rector for International Relations; Conception Larrondo, Program Director and Rafael Atencia, Director of the Foundation UMA. Attending on behalf of the Archidona Town Hall were, Juana Barrio, Executive Councillor for Social Services, Youth, Education and Public Safety, Francisco Jimenez, 1st Deputy Mayor of Archidona, and on behalf of Cudeca, Dr. Emilio Alba, patron of the Cudeca Hospice and Rocio Torres, Manager of Communications and Fundraising.
Cudeca Cancer Care Hospice wholeheartedly thanks the continued support of the University of Malaga and the Town Hall of Archidona for the efforts of raising awareness and fundraising to enable the Hospice to continue Giving Life to Days to more than 5,800 patients with advanced cancer and their families via the home care programs, outpatient and Counselling, Psycho-social Rehabilitation Day Unit and the In-Patient Unit, all free of charge.
