Edward Dodd was a lover of tennis and spent many happy hours at the Lew Hoad Tennis Club. After his passing to cancer in 2007, the family decided to create an annual tennis and paddle tournament in his memory, which was held this year on Saturday 1st August at the Lew Hoad Tennis Club in Mijas.
It was a very enjoyable day for all, with a superb buffet lunch laid out by the Club restaurant. A raffle was held following the lunch with fantastic prizes kindly donated by local businesses and friends, helping to bring the total raised on the day to 1.360€. These funds will help Cudeca to care for a patient in the In-Patient Unit for 5 days and also help to avoid its possible closure due to the high annual deficit that is generated. However, if we increase our number of Benefactors and friends of Cudeca, we can improve the difficult situation that we are currently facing.
The friendship and collaboration of the people attending the Tennis and Paddle competition is key for Cudeca to continue offering its "Special Kind of Caring".
A special thanks to Banco de Halifax and the Lew Hoad Tennis Club for their continued support.
